Set A Fire

Have you experienced being passionate about something?

Moments that caught your attention that time didn’t really matter for a short while. These are moments set on fire. Eyes glimmer and shine because you enjoy and love what you do.

I have this moment where I lost track of time. Well, not a moment, but plenty of times already. Those times I’ve edited videos, or maybe done crafts (props of sorts or anything I can create and prototype with my hands, an invention or a thingamajig). Those times I’ve been engaged with the youth. Those moments I was with my family. Those moments with amazing people. Plenty, I lost track of time because I was in that moment.

It meant it was important. For me it was. It was those moments that I cared less for opinions. Cared less of what’s gonna happen to me too. Cared less of myself because I cared more for what I did and what I was doing it for. Cared more because in the joy of doing things I put my heart in it and took action with all effort, figuratively, set on fire.

A bonfire heated up and warms up a place of some sort. A fire that brings light and warmth, this was those moments. And you know, all the more I realized that I needed someone to guide me when I had those moments.

Being on fire meant losing track of myself. Yes it’s good in a way because when we lose track of ourselves we become selfless. The less we think more of ourselves, the more we can think of others. But in losing track of ourselves, what or who guides us? That string to brings us back when we lose ourselves in the moment. That partner which reminds us to go back to ourselves because we also deserve that light and warmth to ourselves too.

Who’s your fuel?

Who’s keeping you alive, alight, warm, on fire?

In moving forward, I hope you won’t forget why you started moving forward. Don’t force yourself to move forward because people said so or because the world moves on and hence you move too. No. Please don’t. Save yourself from doubts and regrets.

Move forward because you want to. You see those signs on the paths going forward whether it’s written “curvy” or “straight”. Those arrows pointing “To The Future” “To A Great Life Ahead”, you ask why. In figuring out your destination you get to supply yourself to the right fuel you need and if empty, you get to refuel again, be on fire again, be warm and alight again.

Even if we live for others, keep your inner flames alive. Your flames are as good as it’s source of fuel. Protect that flame. Many others still need that warmth. Even you.

Are you feeling warm and comfy in His embrace? Prayers up for all people refueling their inner fire.

Hugs dear friend. Keep your light alive.
